A foster home is one of the most important parts of dog rescue. It is often where a dog learns to trust, to love, and to feel safe, sometimes for the first time, while they wait for their forever home.
A foster family gives a rescued dog a home while we find their adopter: a safe place to recover, routine, and the everyday life that teaches a street dog what living with people is like. You get to know the dog better than anyone, and that helps us find the right match.
We do. We cover all expenses associated with the dog during their time in foster care, unless a foster family chooses to cover something themselves.
There is no set time commitment. Some dogs are fostered for a few weeks, others longer, depending on what it takes to find them the right home. We stay in touch throughout.
Experience helps but is not required. Tell us about your home and routine in the application and we will match you with a dog that fits.
Many foster homes do. Let us know in the application so we can suggest a dog that gets along with other animals.
Yes. If you fall in love, tell us. Foster families are often the best adopters.
